Guest Designer at Morgan's Art World

This week I get to be the Guest Designer at Morgan's Art World.  What a great honour.  I got to work with the image called Tulip Fairy by Judy Mastrangelo.  The theme this week is Three of Something - I used three flowers.

I have used a patterned background paper from Rosie's Studio.  I coloured the image to match the background paper using copic marekrs.  I added some Stickles to the fairy wings.  The flowers were white and I coloured them with Distress Ink Worn Lipstick using a paint brush and adding some water to the Ink.  I added some pearls from Rosie's Studio to the centres of the flowers.

Christmas Day Memories

This girl looks like she is deep in thought - so I thought a Memories sentiment was perfect.

I would like to enter my card into these challenges:
Morgan's Art World - Christmas In July
http://morgansartworld.blogspot.co.nz/2015/07/challenge-3-christmas-in-july.html

I have used a paper and two sentiments from a paper pad by Kaisercraft.  The image is from Morgan Fitzsimons and is coloured with copic markers.  I added some Stickles to the trims on the clothing.  I also added some ribbon and used some blue textured cardstock for the matting

Flower Power

I bought a flower making tool a few weeks ago.  I had seen the video and it looked easy to use.  I think I need a bit more practice (and probably more patience waiting for the petals to dry!) but as this is my first attempt with these flowers I'm relatively happy with them.

Digitally Sweet - Anything Goes
http://digitallysweetchallenges.blogspot.co.nz/2015/07/dsc-140-anything-goes.html

I know my daughter's idea of fun as she was growing up was spending time with our cat.  Actually, she is no different now that she is older!

I have used a patterned paper from a paper pad by Kaisercraft called "Needle and Thread".  The image is from Lia Stampz and coloured with copic markers E00, Y07, YR04, YR2, YR00, Y17, R59, E08.  I used a tool called "Bloom Impressions" and some paper from a scrap paper pack to create the flowers.  I added some pearls to the centre of the largest flower and Liquid Pearls to the two smaller flowers.

Christmas in Green and Gold

Inspired by the stripes in the image, I decided a striped background paper was just what this card needed!

Just keep swimming

Being a swim instructor, I have a lot of use for cards with an aquatic theme.  Occasionally, I have swimmers who move out of the region so it is good to have a card for them to encourage them to keep swimming in their new location.

I have used a paper from a paper pad by Kaisercraft called "Sandy Toes" .  The image is from QKR Stampede and coloured with copic markers.  The sentiment is from Deedee's Digis.  I used some blue textured cardstock for matting and Spellbinders dies for the die-cutting.  I added some sparkly glitter domes as they remind me of water droplets.

I'm last minute again this week.  It has been one of those weeks where I wasn't totally well and didn't feel motivated to create.  This morning I got up with more enthusiasm so hopefully I'll have a better day today!

Ice-cream Truck

I love hearing the sound of the Ice-cream truck as it makes its way around the streets.  I remember begging Mum for an ice-cream whenever I heard it.  My children have never done that - possibly because it doesn't come around as often now as it did when I was younger.

I have printed three of the images from the set together to create a scene.  I coloured the image with copic markers and the background with Distress Inks.  I was going to leave it as a one layer card but remembered I had these gorgeous bear shaped buttons and decided that I would add them to the card.

Pretty in Yellow

Yellow is my favourite colour - a nice sunny cheerful colour.  I coloured this image a while back and never created with it.  I decided today was a good day to create a lovely card with it.

Inspiration Destination - Anything Goes
http://inspirationdestinationchallengeblog.blogspot.co.nz/2015/07/AG-no-43.html

I have sprayed my canvas with grey Dylusions Ink for the background.  The image is from The East Wind which I coloured with copic markers.  I used a silver doily behind the image (which I didn't think would photograph very well but surprisingly it is okay).  I also used some yellow and some blue metallic paper to die-cut some embellishments.  The butterflies are Memory Box dies and the grass and flowers are from Tatttered Lace.  I also added some tiny pearls to the dies.

Red poppies

Last time I used this image, I decided to get creative and not colour the poppies red.  This time I've gone with the traditional colours.

I just realised I forgot to add in the sketch!  Here it is now:

Three Wise Men Stepper Card

I thought I'd have another go at a stepper card as I wasn't that happy with how my first one turned out.  I feel this one stands a lot better than my first attempt.

Eureka Christmas

Very last minute!  It has been one of those weeks.  Just looked and challenge had less than 5 minutes to closing!  Card was made but not photographed!

I have just swapped out the photo of the card I originally inserted with one that was watermarked.  Hopefully that doesn't muck up the inlinkz!

I have used a subtle patterned paper from Kaisercraft.  The two images (border and ornament) are both from Eureka Stamps.  I have used copic markers for colouring.  The matting is cut from cardstock from Rosie's Studio using a Spellbinders die I bought recently.

Nutcracker

I was sorting through some images I had printed out but not coloured and found this one of the Nutcracker.  Since the challenge at Sassy Studio Designs this week is Christmas in July,  I decided that I had better colour it up and create with it.  Time was a bit tight but I've made it with about an hour to spare!

Doodle What

Oops - just realised I didn't post this on Monday!  However, there is still plenty of time to add your doodled designs into the challenge at Incy Wincy Designs.  Head on over to the challenge to get some doodling ideas.

Here is what I created using an image from our sponsor Flat Friends.  The image is called Summer Swim.

I also used a pre-printed sentiment, some glitter border stickers which I thought looked like waves!  I added a doodled border on the right and then added pearls over the top.  I also doodled some waves around the image.

Birthday Bonanza at Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog

With all the mid-year Christmas challenges around the place, we at Scribbles Designs are focussing on something different.  We would like to see your birthday makes.

I have used Carrie Birthday Diva and Birthday Cake and Hat and Happy Birthday (free).  There are two freebies in the challenge post here, including the sentiment I used.

and the inside of the card:

I have also used some banner dies from Tattered Lace (there are small and large dies in the same set).  I doodled around the edge of the image.  I also used some bakers twine, some satin ribbon and some pearls.

Christmas Ornaments - 12 Months of Christmas Link-up

We are midway through July so it is time for a reminder for the challenge at 12 Months of Christmas.  This month the theme is Christmas Ornament exchange and we are sponsored by Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps.  I have used Christmas Ornaments for my mid-month make.

I love the papers from Décosse's Dynamite Doodles for this month.  I coloured the ornaments to match the ornaments on the paper.  I added some Stickles to the heart, star and ornament tops.  I used used some lacy ribbon behind the image and some pearls from Rosie's Studio  to the left of the image.
You can join in the challenge without following the theme and you still will be eligible to receive the month's papers after your second participation this month.  However, those who do follow the theme will be eligible to go in the random draw for the prize from Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps.

Thank You Card

I've made this Thank You card very general - not specific to any occasion.  A lot of my Thank You cards are teacher oriented.

Little Patch of Crafty Friends - Anything Goes
http://lilpatchofcraftyfriends.blogspot.co.nz/2015/07/challenge-13.html

I have used a paper from a paper pad.  The red glitter paper is from a christmas paper pad by Kaisercraft.  The image is from A Day for Daisies and coloured with copic markers.  I  then added some Stickles to the image.  The sentiment is from Digital Doodling and has been die-cut with a Spellbinder die.  I edged the sentiment with some Distress Ink and added some bakers twine through the sentiment.   I also added three pearls.

Christmas Candy Cane Mouse

I'd printed out and die-cut this image a while back but not created anything with it.  I decided it was about time I remedied that!

I got myself a bit confused with the "3 embellishments" and unfortunately the DT seemed to all have different interpretations as far as I can tell.  I wasn't sure if it was three (no more no less), three the same, three different, at least three - so I went with only 3 but all different.  Hope that is what was intended!  My three are Christmas glittery mesh ribbon + metal Christmas tree brad + candy cane.

Strawberry Ice-cream

I seem to have a bit of an ice-cream theme going on today as this is the second card I've created with an ice-cream image.  Since we have yet another frost this morning, I'm obviously being inspired by the temperature of the ice-cream and not the temperature you would normally be indulging in ice-cream!

Here is the sketch I followed (but rotated):

I have also used the sketch on another card which I haven't entered in the challenge.  That card can be found here if anyone wants to have a look.  That time I didn't rotate the sketch!

Ice-cream Treat on Holiday

When I go on holiday anywhere north of here - I always stop at a place called Pokeno.  They have an amazing range of ice-cream flavours from at least two different brands.  You can buy up to about 13 scoop ice-creams!  Although I've only managed a four scoop my daughter once had a seven scoop!

Stockings in Green and Blue

It is the middle of another month - we are getting closer to Christmas all the time.  Here is some mid-month inspiration for you.  To see some more Christmas inspiration, head on over to CHNC Extra for July.

A combination of one traditional and one non-traditional Christmas colour!  I like the effect of these two together.

Crafting in the New Zealand Flag Colours

There have been a lot of red white and blue challenges lately - relating to American Independence Day.  But here in New Zealand, we have the same flag colours.

This girl seemed like she would be the sort of girl to have some colour in her hair - so I added some blue!

Robyn's Fetish Challenge - Anything Goes
http://robynsfetishchallengeblog.blogspot.co.nz/2015/07/challenge-271-anything-goes-752015.html

I have used a paper from a Kaisercraft Christmas paper pad.  I used two of the squares from the 3 Squares image from Bugaboo Stamps.  Other than adding some Stickles to the snowflakes, I left the images uncoloured.  I used some washi tape (halved lengthwise) with some pearls from Rosie's Studio added for a bit more texture.  The buttons and chipboard sentiment are from a set from Teresa Collins.  The two dots just under the washi tape are the "waste" from the chipboard sentiment.
