Halloween Pumpkin Kid

Pulled out all the stops on one of my favourite colours for this one!  I also did some experimenting with a style that I haven't tried before and a product that I have only used once before to produce more of a solid colour.

I am entering my card into these challenges:

PINspirational Challenge - Photo Inspiration (Halloween)
http://pinspirationalchallenges.blogspot.co.nz/2014/10/pinspirational-challenge-127.html

I have used a white card blank and sprayed it with Dylusions Ink from a bit of a distance so I got a speckled effect.  I have used glitter foam for the matting.  The image is the one for the challenge at A Day For Daisies.  I coloured with copic markers E00, YR07, YR04, G29, G21.  I have added a couple of orange word pieces to create the sentiment.

Make a Splash

Being a swimming family, I love making aquatic themed cards.

I have used a wave like paper from Kaisercraft for this card.  I have matted with a purple cardstock from Kaisercraft for a bit of contrast.  The image is from QKR Stampede and has been coloured with copic markers. I added some gold Stickles to the bikini.  The sentiment is from Trimgym and has been cut into a circle with a Spellbinders die.  I randomly dotted three black pearls around the card.

Golden Christmas

There is something elegant about using gold on a card - and it is particularly lovely for a Christmas card:

Smell The Flowers

We are supposed to be springtime here (not that the weather seems to know that!).  A time for all the fresh new flowers and the lovely scents that accompany them (when the wind isn't blowing a gale!).

I would like to enter my spring themed card into these challenges:

I have used a pink floral paper from Rosie's Studio.  The image is from Karleigh Sue and has been coloured with copic markers.  I die-cut using a lovely die from Marianne's Designs.  I added a bow made up of three different pink twines.

Christmas Scene

I used the image to cover most of the front of this card and then added the sky in.

I would like to enter my card into these challenges:

I used a striped paper from Rosie's Studio for my easel card.  The image is from Sassy Studio Designs and has been coloured with copic markers.  I added some gold Stickles to the shoes.  I used a piece of Halloween ribbon on the lower part of the easel.  To stop the ribbon from fraying I added some gold glitter domes at each end.  I also used two large purple pearls as stoppers and some small black pearls as embellishments.  I punched the corners of the lower piece with a Martha Stewart punch.

RIP Ghost

I've used a colour scheme on this one that has made this more cute than scary!

Old Fashioned Watch in Pink

I had intended for this card to also be entered into the Digi Sketch Challenge but somehow I seem to have miscalculated the closing of the challenge (BADLY!).  I figured it as 4th November and it is already closed - not sure how I managed that!  I must need more sleep.

I would like to enter my card into these challenges:

Happy Halloween

My daughter was looking for some buttons for a coat she is in the process of making so I wandered around the shop.  I found some Halloween ribbons so I just had to make another Halloween card!

I would like to enter my card into these challenges:
Eureka Stamps - Purple and Orange
http://eurekastamps.blogspot.co.nz/2014/10/eureka-stamps-challenge-111-purple.html

I have used a background paper from a paper pad by Kaisercraft.  The image is from Eureka Stamps and has been coloured with copic markers.  I matted with some pearlised purple paper.  As well as the ribbon, I added some purple streaks of gelato.

Happy Birthday

The Outlawz Challenge is having a week long PARTY!  As well as the usual challenge, there are some games and an extra challenge using a Freebie image:

I would like to enter my card into these challenges:
The Outlawz Freebie Challenge - Freebie Image
http://outlawzchallenges.ning.com/page/freebie-challenge2014
Penny's Paper - Polka Dots and Pearls
http://pennyschallenges.blogspot.co.nz/2014/10/welcome-to-pennys-challenge-200.html

DeeDee Digis have supplied a set for the Freebie Challenge.  There is a choice of two digis and some sentiments.  There is a sketch to follow for the challenge too.

I have used both digis for my card.  The cake image as the main image and the balloons one for the bottom corners.  I decided to use the Happy Birthday sentiment which I die-cut into a banner shape.  The yellow banner has been cut from pearlised paper using a Tattered Lace die and then attached to the card along some twine.  I have also used some glitter cardstock from DCWV to cut the circle behind the image.  I have added some tiny pearls along one of the layers of the cake.

Can You Handle It

This card is a concept I came up with when this sketch first appeared.  At the time I was away from home with not many resources.  So when there was a free choice of sketch, I really wanted to put those ideas together.

I would like to enter my card into these challenges:
From The Heart Sketches - Choice of Sketch (Sketch #79)
http://fromtheheartstamps.com/community/2014/10/20/i-heart-card-sketches-use-any-previous-sketch/

I used a printed kraft cardstock from a paper pad by DCWV called "The Printed Craft Stack".  The image and sentiment are both from the same set by From The Heart Stamps.  I repeated the sentiment several times.  The blue on the sentiment panel and the matting is a blue gelato by Faber Castell.  I coloured the image with copic markers.

Happy Ghost

I don't think this ghost looks scary at all - not with that giant grin!

I would like to enter my card into these challenges:
Stella Says Sketch - Sketch #217

Clear It Out Challenge - Halloween + Black + Orange

Papertake Weekly Challenge - Black and White and one other colour (orange)
http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.co.nz/2014/10/black-white-and.html

I have used a black card blank for this card.  I added two orange ribbons from my stash - one of them Halloween themed.  The image is from Bugaboo Stamps and has been colorued with a combination of copic markers and paper piecing.  I also added a doodled border using a Distress Marker.  I added five black pearls from my stash but one of them fell on the floor and I can't find it (and i don't have any spare here) so you'll just have to pretend it is there!

Halloween

I decided to make my own background for this card as I couldn't decide on any paper that worked with the concept in my head.  I wanted vibrant and I think I achieved that.

I would like to enter my card into these challenges:

Milk Coffee - Halloween
http://milkcoffeechallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2014/10/halloween-challenge.html

I have used a white card blank and scribbled oil pastels in purple, orange and green across it.  The image is from Kenny K and has been coloured with copic markers.  I die-cut using a tombstone die from Spellbinders and added some tiny black stitches using a Distress Marker - Black Soot.  I also added the word Halloween with the same Distress marker.

I don't know if it is just me or not but the orange pastel appears to have photographed more red than orange!  It is definitely orange IRL.

Here is the inspiration picture from From The Heart Stamps:

I used the sketch, colours and twist.

I used a paper from a paper pad (not sure which brand though).  I added some pink lace across the card.  The image is from Meljens Designs and coloured with copic marker.  I added some Glossy Accents over the nail polish to give it more of a realistic look.  The die I used is a Spellbinder one.  I added bling at every point where the cream lines crossed.

Here is the inspiration picture:

I have used a paper from Rosie's Studio for the background.  The image is from Scrapper's Delights.  I die-cut some rain clouds using a triangle shaped Spellbinders die.  I then added some clear rhinestones underneath each of them to represent rain.  Colouring is with a combination of watercolour pencils and copic marker C2 for the ground.

The layout is the sketch from last week's challenge at Friday Sketch Challenge.  I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to use it again.

Goose Bumps - Midway Post

We are already half-way through our latest challenge.  So, it is time for some fresh inspiration and a reminder of the challenge.  The challenge theme is Goose Bumps AND Texture.  We must be able to visibly see some texture or your card won't qualify for the prize.

Here is my card featuring the image Spookster.  My texture is the embossed die-cut tombstone plus I added some Glossy Accents to three of the bats.

I have used a paper from Décosse's Dynamite Doodles.  The tombstone has been cut from grey cardstock (Rosie's Studio) using a Spellbinders die.  I then embossed it with an embossing folder.  Colouring is with copic markers.  The sentiment is also from Décosse's Dynamite Doodles.

I have used a paper from a paper pad by Kaisercraft called Basecoat Christmas.  I added some Christmas coloured mesh ribbon over the top.  The image is from Fitztown and has been coloured with copic markers and has Stickels added.  I also ran a line of stickles around the edge of the die-cut.  I added a bow to match that on the paper and some red bling.

Monochromatic Layered Card

I started off layering this card before I coloured the image and then decided I would go with a monochromatic look.  I have used a green - but not really a Christmas green!

Holiday Cinderella Honey

A traditional colour scheme this time!  I have fun mixing up the colours for my Christmas cards but it is good to occasionally go with the traditional colours!

http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2014/10/chnc-challenge-198-something-round.html

I have used three papers from one of the new Christmas paper pads by Kaisercraft.  This particular pad is called Basecoat Christmas.  By using papers from the same paper pad they co-ordinate well together.  I added peelcraft stickers to edge each paper.  I also used some Christmas mesh ribbon (which I cut in half so it wasn't as wide) and three red glitter domes.  The image is from Sassy Studio Designs and is called Holiday Cinderella Honey.  I coloured her with copic markers E00, R59, E08, R46, YG06, YG03.  I also used some Stickles on the garment trims.  I added some faux stitching using Distress Marker - Barn Door.

Round Easel Card

I haven't made a round easel card for a while!  With the shape of this image, I was inspired to create another one.  When the easel is closed, the card looks like this:

And here it is opened up:

The Sailing Pineapple - In The Round
http://sailingpineapple.blogspot.co.nz/2014/10/challenge-19-in-round.html

I have used some green cardstock to create the basic easel.  The patterned paper I have used comes from one of the new Christmas paper pads by Kaisercraft.  The 25 topper is from the same paper pad.  The snowflakes around the border are the waste from a snowflake border die by Memory Box.  I embellished these with some tiny pearls.  The ribbon is grosgrain ribbon from Sugar and Spice Studio.  I added some larger pearls to the base of the easel card.

The image is an acrylic stamp from Flonzcraft.  Colouring is with a combination of copic markers and water colour pencils from Faber Castell.  I used all the colours in the colour challenge at Vintage Stamping Challenge although there is not much black there.
